4th Street Candle Co. – Review and Extra (Easy) Entry {#MadeInMichigan}

This is a review for one of my sponsors of the Made in Michigan Blog Giveaway Hop, which will take place from October 28 – November 2. I will be offering my readers the chance to win a (Hand)Made in Michigan prize package worth nearly $200! Please take a moment to read about this wonderful Etsy shop and then fill out the Rafflecopter form below for a very easy extra entry into the giveaway.

I have to tell you that this review is somewhat special to me – 4th Street Candle Co. is located on (you guessed it!) 4th Street… in my town! In fact, the owner of this Etsy shop, Andrea, was close enough to me that I was able to walk over with Little Guy to pick up the candle I am reviewing. Now, how neat is that?!

Andrea is a stay-at-home mom with four children – from college-age all the way down to a one-year-old. She started out as a consultant to a popular candle company. She realized that she’d rather be her own boss and get away from the demands that were being placed on her by the company she worked for. That is how 4th Street Candle Co. was born.

4th Street Candle Co. offers hand-poured, dye-free soy candles in 8oz Mason jars. They come in just about every scent imaginable (see list at bottom of this post – you’ll be blown away!) When Andrea asked me which scent I’d like to review, I asked her for whichever one was most popular. I sure wasn’t expecting to be reviewing Fudge Nut Brownie! I’m more of an herbal or cinnamon type of candle-buyer who has never has had luck finding any of the “baked goods” kind of candles to my liking. That’s changed now, although I’ll only buy this type of candle from Andrea from now on!

I have to tell you a little story about this candle. We picked it up before heading to the fire station for their open house a couple of weeks ago. The visit to the station was long and tiring for Little Guy and for me. When we got home, I lit the candle and set it on the stove, planning to lay with him until he fell asleep for his nap, and then blow it out. I kind of dozed off, too, and woke up 20 minutes later thinking, “Mmmm! The lady downstairs must be making brownies! I wonder if I have any mix in the cupboard…” I got up to go look and spied the candle on the stove – Duh! That’s when Hubby and my oldest came out of the other room and asked me when the brownies would be ready to eat. The candle smelled that good!

Andrea offers discounts on bulk orders – 10% off on three candles and 20% off on six candles – and you can mix and match the scents!
