Last Saturday, Little Guy and I made the best dinner - Split Pea Soup and Buttermilk Honey Bread. YUMMO! Keep an eye out and I'll have the recipes posted soon - even my picky stepson loved them both!
Guess how I cleaned him up... Vacuum cleaner hose! |
How do you explain kneading dough to a toddler? Easy: "Push it, then pull it!" |
LOL - Forgot to take photos of the actual loaves. By the time I remembered, I only had 6 slices left and they were busy becoming grilled cheese sandwiches! |

Your little guy looks sooo cute and the grilled cheese looks super yummy. mmmm
The bread sounds yummy... Hmm never thought to use the vacuum to "clean" up... Little Guy did a wonderful job kneeding from the look of it...

Oh that is SO cute! I try to involve my 1½yo in the kitchen as I can. She loves to drop pasta, cheese, or other ingredients into whatever I'm cooking.
And vacuum hose - genius!
super cute and the bread looks yummy! i haven't made anything but quick breads in so long. you've inspired me. i may try some rye bread in the morning.
and incidentally, i think my grandmother explained kneading dough in pretty much the same way... push it, pull it... push it again.. pull it... them punch it.
Looks like fun! I love homemade bread, mmmmm!

Yeah, the vacuum thing was just a moment of genius. Really. I looked at his shirt, pants, abd the chair he was standing on - all were completely white from the flour. Just then, out of the corner of my eye was the vacuum. AHA!!!
Yum! Looking forward to the recipes! :-)
That bread looks so good! Can't wait for the recipe!

I often have that flour belly myself. Joy in baking is very important. What a fun way to spend time together!
@One Rich Mother
